Design and Technology ✂

Vision

Design and technology at Parkfield will develop pupils’ creativity and imagination, as they design and make products that solve real and relevant problems within a variety of contexts, considering their own and others’ needs, wants and values. Through the evaluation of past and present design and technology, they will develop a critical understanding of its impact on daily life and the wider world. High-quality design and technology education will ensure our pupils are equipped to make an essential contribution to the creativity, culture, wealth and well-being of the nation.

Curriculum Coverage

The learning intentions taught within each unit of work are detailed by clicking on the year group links below.

We feel cookery and nutrition is vitally important to our Parkfielders and as a result each term teachers plan a day where pupils design, make and evaluate a recipe. This gives our pupils the opportunity to design and make three recipes a year and a total of 21 as a Parkfielder.
