The History of Parkfield School

Unit Overview

This project teaches children about the history of our school and its important events. The children will have the opportunity to learn about the Old Parkfield school which opened during the Victorian period and the current school which opened in 1981. The children will also compile a list of questions to ask ex students to find out what the school was like when they were a Parkfielder.

Unit Sequence: Learning Intentions

Enquiry question - How has our school changed since it opened in 1864? What has continued and stayed the same?

How has Parkfield changed? We will visit the site of the old Parkfield school and look at photographs of that school and the new school.
How can we find out about Parkfield in the past? We will ask ex students what Parkfield was like when they were a student.
What changed and was has remained the same about Parkfield? We will answer our enquiry question.
